Visit to Australian Landscape Artist’s Gallery – Hugh Gallery!

Happy New Year! How has 2018 already started to move so quickly?! Hope you’ve had a good start…

So at the end of last year I had the pleasure of assisting on a photo-shoot for Katie Sargent Design which took us down the Mornington Peninsula route, one of Victoria’s southern tourist hot-spots. It turned out to be a beautiful day and the views on the drive down were just gorgeous:

Even more exciting was getting to see Australian landscape artist – Hugh Evans’, beautiful gallery that is so easy to fall in love with! The Flinders based Hugh Gallery is full of work that brings colour, texture and detail onto amazing canvases and paper – it’s hard not to get caught up staring at his work. Here’s some of his amazing work close-up:

Hugh’s gallery is FULL of amazing pieces, in both bright and subtle hues (excuse the pun!), and the artwork is even more amazing when you see it in person! The time and effort he takes to make his signature ‘lollipop’ figures and all the detailed circular and linear strokes to the canvas are evident, and it is truly up to the observer to stand and look into the specific piece and make of it as your imagination so desires.

It was a pleasure to see in his work ‘up-close-and-personal’ and it also made me appreciate the artistry even more, along with the obvious love he puts into his craftsmanship.

A little more of Hugh’s work:

Ciao!
